S Fund

i cant remember the last time the s fund out produced the i for this long , will it last ?
Welcome to the MB cmf-jay!! Who knows?, but if the dollar continues its fall that will strenghten the "I" Fund. I think that the FED likes a weak dollar (although they deny it).
Best of luck:D

Welcome cmaf-jay! Coming out of a recession, small caps tend to outperform. But if the dollar keeps falling I wouldn't count out the I-fund. The question is, are we coming out of the recession?

Look at prior post recession years, 2003, 1995, 1991...

2003: Russell 2000 +47%, EAFE +38%

1995: Russell +28%, EAFE + 11%

1991: Russell +46%, EAFE + 12%

WELCOME !! and that's an excellent question.

S Fund is 'super high risk' which translates to Super High Gains or Super High Losses (depending)

WILL IT LAST ??? is the most important question and NO ONE really knows for sure.

Many of the TOP Experts now feel we have gone too high and too fast and in fact still consider this current 'piece of history' as a possible FAKE HEAD - or Bear Trap. If that is the case then maintaining a Position of 'LOCKING GAINS' should predominate your TSP Planning.

It sounds like you've been in long enough to know 'When the Markets are flying the S Fund and I Fund will usually make the Greatest Gains'

Well once again it's good to have ya join us and I'm looking forward to your continued contributions ;)
