Rustynutt's "Transition" Thread

Sounds like you've been a busy man, I am and retired too!
The best to your Mom Buddy.

Following up on OPM's finalization of my annuity I'll have to admit, reading horror stores about how long it could take for it to be adjudicated (is that a good word?), my experience could not have been better, IMHO.

Just a shortie this time :)

Exited service January 31st.
Received conformation 3-17, OPM has completed calculations for both annuity and FERS Supplement, and it would arrive April 1st.
Wife was doing books this morning, sure enough, both annuity pay and FULL supplement pay was included!
Keep in mind, I had no weird conditions to consider, and had spent my entire career at one location. Surely, those can be deciding factors for OPM to complete calculations, and an retiree actually getting a deposit.

Nasa, today finally logged on to my OPM account. As you said, it really doesn't have much information, other than the case is finalized.

Very satisfied with the performance of OPM! Not bad for a Federal Government agency :D

Sounds good my friend, you know what they say,,,,,,,,,,,,when it's good it's good!

Yup, sure is :cheesy:
Now will start spending more time on the board looking at what others have done investment wise, maybe sign up for a little personal assistance :)

Missed out on an Easter ride to the Pinnacles near Trona California due to high dust blowing winds (an entire week!). Son is coming up next Friday for 3 days, been prepping two bikes and the wife's quad for the event. Funny thing, realized I can BBQ this Sunday evening, and get up Monday morning to finish the job :D

Took a bit, am beginning to recall what happiness was all about ;)
Thanks to Nasa and nnuut for the moral support this last year, and to all others as well. My thought train gets derailed at times!
