He been retired since the Covid debacle. I figured that was as good a time to retire as any other.

He first couple of years I did a little radio show on our local radio station. Always wanted to do that, and the station was happy to have me work a few hours a week.

Now I’m planning on trying to start a non-profit, dedicated to help people save up for their first home. I’m looking at a duplex to buy, and then I’m going fix it up, and rent it out at section 8 housing rates, but then take a couple hundred of each tenements rent money each month, and have it invested in the stock market in a kind of “housing account”.
In two years, or three years, they will have built up enough to use it as a down payment on a first home.

I’ve got my eye now on a duplex building. Thinking now is the time to pull the trigger.

What kinds of things are YOU doing in retirement? Travel? Something new?

Let’s hear your story!

Going on cruises. But I did that with my wife before I retired. She passed from cancer in 2021. Decided to go cruising again and have done a few burials at sea with her ashes. Spending quality time with the grandkids. Playing golf again. Getting in a little bowling. Going to Cedar Point Amusement Park and riding the coasters. Housework. Yard work. Playing video games with my grandson and son-in-laws. Spending too much time on Facebook and going to bed at 2 in the morning. Working on the Family Tree. And of course, watching you guys here.
