What do you think the Fed will do on the Halloween FOMC meeting?

  • A .25% rate cut.

  • A .50% rate cut.

  • No rate cut.

600 homes already toasted in California and probably more to burn. The Fed will do a repeat similar to the last cut. And probably another 25 basis at the end of December. They are data dependent and the data dictates.

For the record I thing B52 painted himself in a corner with the .50% cut and won't do a thing while they "look at the data".

You might be right for Holloween, but I made that same mistake in Sept. thinking that they will only cut .25% because of inflation, the falling dollar, oil, etc....

What I should have been thinking was what does Wall Street want them to do?

IMHO, a .25% is baked in, but they will probably go above and beyond again.

For what it's worth 350Z I agree. I too feel that Wall street will dictate the .5 cut. I think (In my synicisimicisim) that this is not just a market economy but an economy sometimes dictated by the market. There are political concerns for this administration as well that may put pressure to bear for a high cut to keep the mood high through Christmas.

My 2 cents (borrowed against the last 3 -FV's)

Thanks for voting folks, now for the big day.

I think the .25% rate cut is baked in and if that is all we get the market will sell off. A .50% is more of a long shot and will rock the market. No cut is going to, of course, make the market sell off.

Good luck and thanks again. :D
