Somebody with much more experience may be able to give some insight on this. On looking at the top performers on the auto tracker, i notice one glaring detail that stands out amongst the top 15. They all seem to seldom put any percentage in the C fund. Why is this. Is there something intrinsically better about the dow than the C fund. Maybe there is something i am missing. I see this trend going back 4 years and its puzzling me as for the last year i've been a federal employee i've always put some in the C fund, but now i'm confused. somebody point out the obvious to me.....thanks.

The "S" has been out performing the "C" [Large Caps] for years but you must keep in mind it usually does better to the upside and much worse to the downside than the "C".

You are looking at sector cycles. The small caps have been in outperformance mode for the last 11 years - prior to that the large caps were in outperformance mode for 5 years. I think the C fund will have its day and may be starting now.
