Prayers for Joplin

As long as it fits your agenda. You must be so pleased with your observation and the horrible plight of the good people of Joplin, MO. After all in your mind they all got what they deserved. Classy.

Seems a little harsh there my friend. From what I've been reading it doesn't seem that he is reveling in others misery or anything like that, just simply reporting the facts.

Oh, the fact that dozens killed and hundred injured and displace and it was implied by his impartal, unbias, top notch reporting that it happened because they voted Republican. And, I'm harsh? And I thought Pat Roberts was a wacko.

How about I correlate all the natural disaster and economic disasters with the folks that voted Democratically, oh what I'm not that tasteless to imply that whether in jest or serious. :suspicious:

James would revel in the painful destruction of everyone that did not believe in his beliefs. JMO based on his unbiased reporting of the facts.

But I digress, send money to those in Joplin, even if they voted Republican. They are suffering horribly in the rain. Damn Republicans.

We just had a major tornado outbreak in Central Oklahoma and the storms are moving East really fast..folks in Arkansas and Missouri better prepare again... I got a little over 2" of rain in an hour with this hail..

These pictures I took, was at 5PM CST..normally bright sunny daylight..this was as dark as midnight..This is all my flash could catch..

You better tell that to Eric Cantor, not me. Seems the House Leader is now saying he's not going to allow money to be sent to help the people of Joplin. You may say "Send money to those in Joplin". Eric Cantor says NO!.

I just observe the facts.

Ummm, I just read that and apparently we read 2 different articles OR you are leaving out some parts...

Want to try again?

Did you click on the link and read the underlying Examiner story? The President directed FEMA to render all aid and assistance as quickly as possible to Joplin. Then Eric Cantor annouced that no money would be approved for help for Joplin- no emergency aid, unless the money was cut from someplace elsewhere.

That's what the facts are. My point was that help should be given. Show-me said "Send the money to Joplin". My observation was that Cantor is the one who is saying republicans are not going to approve it unless the money is cut elsewhere.

And now that you have put ALL the facts out there, then it is clearer.

He didn't say he wasn't going to send money, he said there should be offsets for the expenses (pay-fors). Which, as you have seen all over both boards, is the point of the right. If we have to increase spending on something, we should find the offset somewhere else (or how so many on the other side like to say, CUT).

Sorry, that is a problem, but it seems we can always find an excuse to spend, but it seems pretty hard from some folks to cut.

With that said, this isn't about the initial relief, etc. This is for getting the billions to the state, etc needed to rebuild in the long term. Just a thought.

Waiting for the flames...

No you are implying ugliness just like before, God did not send the tornado's and Cantor is right cut non-essential funding to help those folks. We got $7B back from GM or use the reward money from OBL bounty. How about cutting all foreign aid to help pay for it. First thing a good executive would do to help his own people..........oh what they are not his people, they voted Republican.

There is no denying that Joplin needs help. We can agree to that. Let's leave the politics out of it. If you want to discuss semantics go to the beltway.

This is really bad but has happened before.:worried:
Here are some actual stats on some of the worst tornadoes and tornado outbreaks in the US:
~The deadliest single tornado and deadliest tornado outbreak: March 18, 1925. This outbreak only consisted of 7 tornadoes, but included the infamous “Tri-State” tornado which killed 695 people. The total number of people killed in the outbreak was 740.
~2nd on the list of deadliest tornado outbreaks is the Tupelo-Gainesville outbreak on April 5-6, 1936. 17 tornadoes killed 446 people over 2 days.
~The largest number of tornadoes in a tornado outbreak was April 3-4, 1974. The outbreak produced 148 tornadoes in 24 hours and killed 315 people. This outbreak was viewed as the worst in recent history, until the April 25-28th outbreak.
The April 26-28, 2011 tornado outbreak is the deadliest tornado outbreak in recent US history and it is one of the worst of all time. It was the single deadliest day for tornadoes since 1932 and the most people killed in a 2 day period since the April, 1936 outbreak. The 201 (confirmed & surveyed) tornado count in 24 hours ranks #1 above the April 1974 outbreak (148 tornadoes/24hrs) as the most tornadoes to occur in 1 day.
The month of April was shattered records with a total of 875 tornadoes. The record for April was 267 tornadoes set back in 1974. The record for any month was 542 tornadoes set back in May 2003. The yearly tornado record is 1,817 in 2004-hopefully we don’t beat it for 2011, but so far we’ve had over 1,000. Typically May is the busiest month for tornadoes.

And guess who will be doing most of the labor to rebuild Joplin? That's right, many of those illegal Mexican immigrants that need jobs. They are hard workers from dawn to dusk, and only need an opportunity to be productive. Can't say that about some others.

So using James logic Katrina was sent because they voted overwhelmingly Democrat. Hell I guess crazy ol Pat Robertson was right after all. I'm being sarcastic of course.

God did not send the tornado to Joplin nor is God going to help Joplin.

People are going to help Joplin.

So reach down into the wallet and give our fellow Americans a hand. In Joplin...in parts of Oklahoma and nearby areas that also got hit really hard.
That's twice now in almost as many weeks that I've agree'd with you..what's up with that?:D
