Post Your "12-Month Personal Rate of Return"

I can believe him. I dont know how I've done it, considering I had not looked at my TSP for over a year until September of 2010 when I found out about this website. At that point I was 20+% for 12 months (Never got out of the market in 2008, so just had to ride it out) TSP.GOV tells me now I'm over 40.2% for the last 12 months.

Top performers according to TSPTALK in annual returns.
2008 #1. Poolman. returns = 19.3 %
2009 #1. Tractor. returns = 53.44%
2010 #1. Sentiment survey returns.= 35.16%

However I'd like to congratulate mark c, and crispy for managing to outperform or in crispy's case come very close to out performing those results. You guys have got so sign up on autotracker. We could really use your knowledge.

PUH LEEEEZ !

Either you are (a) Extremely, extremely,extremely EXTREMELY ...L.U.C.K.Y !
Or you are (b) A L.I.A.R!

You mean to tell me that a newb, comes on here to TSPTALK and posts returns that even the most hardened experienced seasoned investor can't even achieve? You must think were all a bunch of idiots. Anyway I got a big laugh so at least you got comedic skills for sure.

But seriously if your that hot, you should start a premium service and just quit your day job, you could make a living managing other peoples money ..Hell, I aint even seen numbers that big put up by professional money managers! I also noticed your not even on the autotracker, I would love to see you sign up, I mean you should have no trouble catching up to us guys who are at the top with our meager 10-13% returns ( I bet you make that in 2 months huh?)

Oh and I just loved the quotations. (On a ROLL) ( I'd Say!) (Timed the recovery well) ( Yeah!, REAL well!)

I understand your position and I will take your skepticism as a compliment. The 2010, 2009, and 12-month PRR are directly from TSP.gov, so it is exactly correct according to my TSP account. 2010 and 2009 are from the annual statement and the 12 month PRR is listed under my balance. In addition, I did sign up for auto tracker in the middle of May and I will expect to move up the board, but it does not reflect my gains from the previous week. I actually finished May up about 1.25%, which is not amazing, but my 12-month PRR is high because I consistently outperform the stock market and I did that again in May, so I consider it a successful month. I refuse to consider the auto tracker as a competition and I don’t expect to finish in first place after a late start. I only compete with myself and I would actually like to help others succeed. I appreciate that you think these numbers reflect that I could do this professionally. If you know of any job offers, I’m open to the idea. I currently provide financial advice to co-workers and advise them when I make an IFT. Their PRR is not equal to mine because I always make my IFT decisions at the last minute and they don’t always receive my distribution text or email in time for their moves to match mine. I will ask one of them to check his PRR, I believe it is over 30% in the last 12 months after I convinced him to leave the G-fund in the middle of 2010. I can post all my IFTs over the last twelve months if you believe that would help me gain the trust of the other members.

It looks like the TSP site has been updated. 2011 has been kicking me pretty hard, but I'm still in the green...
12-Month Personal Rate of Return:

It is true, this thread is in fact worthless as we take these numbers at face value, that value being your word. At the same time I'm not going to go out and accuse someone of lying, but I will say put up or shut up by joining the tracker. Your previous returns mean nothing to me, what you do in the public forum is what counts. Now if anyone here feels the need to prove themselves, they can send me their PDF statements and I'll be happy to verify their integrity.

Where do I send it? I can send you a screen shot of the 12 month return.

I'm 33 years old and started my TSP 10.5 years ago. I'm currently trying to send the screenshot to JTH, but it looks like he signed off.

Mark, you don't have to send anything to prove what you already know to be true. My point was directed at the forum as a whole. You've already joined the tracker, this will be the measure of performance most here will hold to be true because it's something we all equally can verify with each other.

I emailed it to your gmail account. I know that I don't have to prove anything, but I don't like people thinking I am a liar, when I despise liars.

I've verified Mark's 12-Month Personal Rate of Return and it is indeed 48.12%. I was also able to verify the integrity of the entire file had not been compromised, don't ask me how I know, I won't tell you. That means he didn't just cut and paste his return, it's legit. Anyways, Mark I look forward to your incites, please do feel free to provide them for the benefit of all, and welcome to the team.

Thank you JTH, I knew people would not believe me and I did not want people to ignore my advice because they thought I was lying. Obviously, luck does play a role in this, as every IFT is just an educated guess. I have always made IFTs, but I work a late shift and I would normally read the news at work and my arrival time was after the IFT deadline (10am for MST), so I would often miss opportunities. I bought a smart phone (Droid) in April of 2010 and started to make a practice of reading the financial news when I first wake up. That has allowed me to gage the market with the opportunity to make an IFT if the conditions are right. I sometimes can’t sleep late anymore because I’m excited to see what the market is doing each morning.

I've refused to post in this thread till now out of embarrassment...but I'm PUI so what the heck. :D

Well Mark c if JTH verified it I will digress and say you must have some very very good luck. However I am still a skeptic, I have seen so many people come on here and talk up such a huge game then *poof* their gone just as fast. As in real life people who talk that big are 90% of the time doing just that, talking. I personally am the type, that when I show up I like to show up real quietly then slowly start proving myself by my actions, then I'll open my mouth, but not before I've proven myself though. I look forward to being able watch you progress on the tracker so I can see and more importantly learn from your strategy.

Congratulations on the great returns. One question, what was you're return in 2008?
Ok, you noticed that I only posted back to 2009. In 2008, I stayed in most of the year and finished -32.62%. I don't know how Poolman did what he did in 2008. He is the man for posting strong gains that year.

I wasn't talking a huge game. I was posting my returns, which are fact. I believe posting returns is the suject of this thread. I never said anything negative about anyone and never said anything great about myself.
