Planned Parenthood & their >300 Bil $$$$$

Planned Parenthood gets more `interesting' every day !
And I know that our present administration thinks highly of them, but I'm wondering if they, including our President & our Health lady, are encouraging their children & all relative to: `go forth & do likewise.'

And when you consider that yearly funding in the budget for them - greater than $300,000,000 - I wonder if maybe than money wouldn't be better spent balancing our budget by NOT SPENDING it at all ?

And comments are always interesting ...

The CNS site seems to be down (server overload). Is that $300 million or billion? If billion, you need more zeros. :D

$300,000,000,000

The money that planned parenthood gets is not for abortions.

It's for HIV and other STD testing, and counseling. ANd it's not directly from the federal government. the federal government gives money to states and local govenrments for HIV and STD testing and awareness, and then state and local governments contract it out to local agencies.

and it's $300 million for the total budget for Planned Parenthood.

Only a tiny fraction of that comes from government funding of any kind- and that funding isn't for abortions, it's for all the other services, HIV/STD testing, etc, under contract from state and local governments- , not $300 million to Plannned Parenthood from government sources.

By the way- April is STD awareness month.

Are you aware?

Be careful out there....

Now isn't that interesting - suddenly I can't load my Home Page to get to the article & links!!
On top of that, the email link (& the copy/paste) I sent to myself of that page all came in as attachments " not able to download."

Anyway , James, dear James, the point of the Guide put out by PP was not about, nor did it mention abortions: it was Not about abortions. It was telling kids that there was no need to tell your sex object that you had HIV, or even AIDS, as far as that goes. It was
saying it wasn't anyone else's business. It was saying it would be illegal to deprive anyone of having sexual adventure, satisfaction and happiness. It's advising our youth not only do they need that sexual happiness, they deserve it, even with HIV; that to advise your partner of it would be unnecessarily depriving you of your joy....

That was the reason for my comment encouraging the giver of our monies to PP to tell their kids to `go forth & do likewise.'

And as for April being STD awareness month, maybe someone should knock on PP's door & let them know that that this was to be a time of remembering the dangers, that condoms don't prevent certain of the STDs;
that STD awareness month is NOT for being even more liberal in your spreading of it!
I truly regret, apologize, for not having the link - I thought I covered the bases by even doing a copy & paste to email to myself, so that should the guide suddenly disappear, I'd still have it; & because we have all seen bad publicity pages pulled, I didn't bother to Bkmark it.. Apparently guides `accidentally' got left in a room where a group of Girl Scouts were meeting, that it wasn't part of their education or badge earning requirements.

As for all the missing Zeros, Tom, the amount was >300 Million, apparently the thread titles are not in the `correctable' preview to watch for typos??
Whatever - I hadn't noticed it.... :o

Is this why Stupak quit?
ABORTION RESTRICTIONS

An additional aspect of concern is that the president’s budget does not remove government funding restrictions on abortion services. Restrictions on public funding for abortion services have severely hindered access to safe abortion care for women, disproportionately affecting poor women.
“We are disappointed that the budget did not remove restrictions on women’s ability to access the full range of reproductive health care services,” said Richards. “Placing onerous restrictions on women is not effective public policy. We look forward to working with the president and Congress to remove these restrictions.”
“As the nation’s leading advocate and provider of women’s reproductive health care, every day we see that the best way to prevent unintended pregnancies and promote healthy families is to invest in family planning programs and ensure more women have access to affordable, quality reproductive health care,” said Richards. “The president’s budget is a step in that direction.”

Maybe you got a virus from it, grandma. :worried:

Better be careful out there, ya know....

(Sorry- that was too much of a coincidence not to be funny...:D)

Try this one on, Grandma-

No one else is reporting that story which originated in CNS News. And now CNS "news" has pulled it down.

What if:

What do you think the odds are that the story was a lie, fabricated by a CNS "news" reporter. But it really was never in a pamphlet put out by planned parenthood?

What if...

Planned parenthood called CNS today and told them if they kept it up on the web, knowing that it was false, that they (planned parenthood) would sue CNS for defamation?

Could be the case, you know.

...considering that cnsnews.com is totally inaccessible, by me, by Tom, & whomever else....
I would like to ask you how you have come by any information that the story has been pulled down?:suspicious:

You have amply demonstrated/posted your ability to get information in the blink of an eye, your accessibility to `those in the know,' and of your total comprehension of a nearly 2,000 page bill written with `exceptions' & `in the case of,' to most every entry & references to other sections, etc, etc....

So please enlighten me - how did you get information that the PP story has been pulled down?

I think what happened was that Glenn Beck pointed out on his show yesterday, an article headline on the Drudge Report that read:

"Obama Science Czar tells Students: We Can't Be #1 Indefinitely"

The article was posted... you guesses it, on cnsnews.com. The site has been overloaded since. That's my guess on why it won't come up.

Thank you tractor :)

Tom: The article was posted... you guessed it, on cnsnews.com. The site has been overloaded since. That's my guess on why it won't come up.
It was still overwhelmed at 10pm last night - & stilll is -now-at 10:45 am cdt...an indiction to me that PP had twittered their crowd to swamp the site & make it inaccessible. Notice that James said that the HIV sex guide was taken down, so he had some kind of insider knowledge about it. :suspicious: Faking it with his first response to the post was good, pretending it was abortion related, knowing that abortion is a litmus test for me.....
It was good of him, though, to note that PP is using part of their 300 Million to educate pre & teens on how to have sex - they probably even have school diagrams on `good' places to `go forth and do likewise.'

Again - thank you tractor for the google link -:)
