Is "Our current allocation" the way most of the members are allocating their funds?
It's the way Tom (tsptalk) is managing his allocation. To see whatothers are doing, look at Member Allocations, Transactions and Returns. We tend to be a motley crew. ;)

I read the email that was sent to Tom and I must say that this site has helped many of us here and that it is easy to critize others when the funds go down, but the principal player and the only person that we should be looking to critize is ourselves since most of us do not take the initiative to learn and get informed but and when the "markets" go down we tend to blame others for our mistakes. Take responsibities for your own actions and it is part of learning. Learn from your own mistakes and others and make decissions that you feel comfortable with. I am very content and we must commend Tom for his great site and all the work that he puts into it. Tom.......THANK YOU. :^

Victor, I agree...but is this really a way to run a retirement fund? *LOL* I mean, really. If the TSP allowed hourly switches, I would expect some people to be switching each hour.

Maybe the govt will eventuallymove from providinghealth benefits to providing us all withsurgical and other medical supplies cheaply, along with a "Do It Yourself - Surgery" booklet.

Based on what I was told by my unofficial facility fund jumper, we are allotted 13 moves per year. I read where this was going to change to an unlimited amount which would be another step in the right direction. The lag time between moves would be the final bugaboo.

My question is for affirmation about the 13 moves.Based on the web author's year-to-date allocation history, it looks like he's used 8 ofhis 13 moves. That doesn't make much sense based on the fact that heknowsbetter then most ofus how all of this works. If the 13 movelimit is in fact the limit, then the only thing I can glean with all of the moves is todofund changes as you see fit. Then, when you've used up 12 of your moves, make a short-term hold decision. Move #13 would be for an emergency.

Great site. The front page barchart is really handy.

In my best Tom Cruise from Rainman impersonation....

"She is answering a question, from a half hour ago!"

What did victor say to make you say that? :D

Welcome, again!

There is no limit currently. I made a lot more than 13 moves last year.

Do not laugh, some of us have had to perform our own stitches with a needle and thread from a sewing kit, and it did not cost a dime.

Haha. I was still in my SS becomes TSP mode.I was agreeing with Victor that this is a wonderful site and you do a fine job, Tom, but that the concept of a retirement fund in my mind shouldn't be something that requirespeople towatch their retirement money 24 hours a day. Most don't have the time or inclination. IMHO, the TSP and very soon SS/TSP are twoways in whichthe government reduced (will reduce)benefitswhile trying to make you believe that youhave been/will be empowered with additional freedoms.

I wasn't laughing. In the case of TSP, I wasn't even given a do-it-yourself retirement booklet.
