:D:o I'm a child of the 70s, I seldom have more than 3 lightbulbs on in the house at any one time, most are CFLs by now anyway.

I've been advised by an electrician tho, that any enclosed receptacles still need the incandescents, that the CFLs could explode or burn down the house or some darn thing if used in an enclosed fixture (I forget exactly what he said but it was baaaddd)-so I only use CFLs in fixtures that can breathe.

Also my 3 new solartubes are replacing some daytime lighting needs in darker places in the house, so I don't need to turn on a lamp (not even a CFL) in those places during the daytime any more-yay! yes they were expensive, but I love the solartubes, really brighten the place up midday.

and with the new insulation the house is already staying more constant temperatured, even with nights dropping into low 50s the past few weeks. before the added insulation the house would have been swinging maybe 20 degrees within 24 hours, now maybe 10 degrees max. No a/c. I like it! Heating bills expected to drop a lot! this winter. :)

BP: Could Resume Drilling Relief Well This Weekend

HOUSTON -(Dow Jones)- BP PLC (BP) could start the final operation to kill the Deepwater Horizon well as soon as this weekend, after it installs
and tests a well mechanism designed to reinforce the well head, the company said Friday.

The oil giant is preparing the well for the so-called bottom-kill operation, which involves flooding a gap between the well casing and the surrounding rock formation with mud and cement via a relief well that's nearly complete. Before that can be accomplished, federal officials want to ensure a cement seal currently in the well won't be damaged by any pressure buildups.
In a statement Friday, the company said it was ready to restart relief-well operations on the weekend once the new piece of equipment, called the lock-down sleeve, is installed. [more]
