By Ciara Linnane, MarketWatch

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil futures were slightly lower early Tuesday, extending their prior-day decline ahead of the release of weekly data on supplies that's expected to show a modest build in crude stocks but further declines in gasoline supplies.
Crude for June delivery was crude is down 11 cents at $65.60 a barrel in early electronic trade. On Monday, the contract closed out the month of April with a loss of almost 3%, pressured by a lack of U.S. supply shortages and easing tensions between Iran and the West, which relieved some of the worry related to oil production from the Middle East.

Venezuela pulls control from Big Oil

President Hugo Chavez makes an attempt to reclaim resources by taking operational control of the Orinoco Belt.

May 1 2007: 10:53 AM EDT

PUERTO PIRITU, Venezuela (Reuters) -- President Hugo Chavez's government took over Venezuela's last remaining privately run oil fields Tuesday, intensifying a decisive struggle with Big Oil over one of the world's most lucrative deposits.
Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez declared that the oil fields had reverted to state control just after midnight. Television footage showed workers in hard hats raising the flags of Venezuela and the national oil company at a refinery and four drilling fields in the oil-rich Orinoco River basin. Chavez planned a more elaborate celebration Tuesday afternoon with red-clad oil workers, soldiers and a fly over by Russian-made fighter jets. (more)

Guess you'd have to add George W. to that list today. Everybody (including me) is yelling about the high price of fuel, but nobody wants to let em drill for more. Some of our old boys up in East Tennessee have raked the cobwebs off some old wells and started pumping again. Before, there wasn't enough oil to be profitable, but now, at today's price, they're back in business.

It all depends what you consider being BAD. Until we can come up with other sorces of energy we had better look for more OIL or our friend Hugo C and the boys will own US!!:suspicious:

Iowa Refinery Snags May Raise Gas Prices
Tuesday May 1, 7:45 pm ET
By David Pitt, AP Business Writer Shortage of Fuel in Iowa Signals Nationwide Supply Tightness and Likelihood of Higher Prices

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Refinery snags that left two Iowa storage facilities short of fuel over the weekend are a reminder of how tight the U.S. gasoline market has become and why average prices could soon top $3 a gallon, experts said Tuesday.

It’s 3.33 per gallon out here in Los Angeles and that is considered a good price!

California inflation was one of my reasons for leaving after my tour at Camp Pen. Bad thing was I traded it for Colorado inflation because all of the Californians were moving to Colorado. I finally gave up and move back to my home state. Didn't know how to act when a long neck cost me a $1 and I was use to paying $3 to $5 a bottle. O joy, heaven!

Couldn't agree with you more. Hope you don't think I was slamming Bush, because I wasn't. He wants to drill, but the Libs/Dems hate him and always fight for the opposite of whatever he does. Hope Fred T runs and picks up the ball after he's gone.
