Oil Slick Stuff

Some good news.

Iowa just set a record on renewable fuel sales in the 2nd quarter. Nearly 3.7 million gallons.

View attachment 15199

That's a state record of clean, renewable E85 Ethanol fuel --- a liquid that DIDN"T come from petroleum, and DIDN'T come from a middle-eastern country, financed with money borrowed from China. Nope, that was MADE IN THE USA fuel that helps put money in the pockets of Midwest farmers instead of middle-east shieks.

Hey- Hurricanes can come and knock out the drilling platforms and mess with refineries.

Civil unrest can make the price of oil spike in Africa and the Middle East.

Russians can sign deals with corporations to steal all the Gulf of Mexico oil, for all I know.

But we HAVE to work on finding financially viable, renewable alternatives whereever we can. Every little bit helps.

Congrats Iowa motorists on the record. Keep it up. Keep growing our alternatives.
The way you said this..I agree 100%...But we must also continue to sustain our needs for OIL by home Drilling too...The alternative fuels will come on line eventually ..but it's not yet time, or time to give up on our own oil reserves and harvesting those profits here at home while waiting on industry to gear completely up and deliver some real useful alternative fuels., instead of paying OPEC.

BTW:..Whatever happened to this idea..seemed doable.

They have had a few problems with the Salt Water for fuel discovery! Too Bad.
Could salt water fuel cars?

Once upon a time there was this snot nose kid..he would never admit to being in the wrong..

One day this brat was out in the woods hugging a few trees and licking some leaves, and he discovered a hive of bees...He decided that since he was always correct and never at fault and certainly not ignorant, that he could kick the Bee hive and not get stung and get away with it...Well he kicked the hive and the bees attacked him with their usual fury, stinging the hell out of this whiny little brat...

Later that night he explained to his mommy that he was just walking through the woods minding his own business and a swarm of bees just swooped down on him and attacked him for no reason, he whined....Well his mommy of course took his side of the story to be true as always she did and ordered her husband to go out into the woods and destroy the hive...

There is no morrow, only that the birds and other animals of the woods seen it all...Karma works in magical ways..

PS: Kleenex and crying towels can be found in the classified section.

DRILL-BABY-DRILL

There's no story hidden with the animals and birds in the woods. There is a written record a few pages back. And if you think this thread has a mommy for me to cry to then you've been spending waaay too much time in fairy tale land, Mr. "Phil is back ".

Glad you're having fun though!!

Link to the written record please. Searching is such a bore and so time consuming.
Ah it ain't worth the effort PO..he butted into a discussion about how living without oil is best and the need for oil is so ungreen, blah, blah blah and tried to condescendingly force his liberal tree hugging views on those of us that want and support oil exploration here in the US, sighting age old arguments that are out dated and bogus, like most liberal leaflickers say..just to sound fashionably correct (cause he is in the IN CROWD)..But then claimed he was innocently attacked for his insistance on his narrow minded views and he was being picked on by me and he was doing nothing wrong and his views were righteously correct...you know and heard the jive before....boo-hooo!..But he'd rather go out and hug a tree and ride in a horse and buggy..Like I said..kick a bee's nest and expect to get your ass stung.

OK, I'm not a tree hugger but I try to look at things without rose colored glasses. Which both sides tend to do. Why do we have to keep drilling for oil in areas we really shouldn't? One mistake and we create a mess that could take years and billions to clean or fix. Oil is a limited product. It will eventually run out and it will be sooner than later. Why can't we make it a national commitment to create something that will replace oil? This could create jobs, spur the economy and become a huge export product for the country. Just wondering out loud.

Now that's the way you present an opinion...Nicely put Nasa..

And I agree 100%..Like I said to Jim..I'm all for alternative fuels, but they just aren't profitable, plentiful or able to be as efficient as Gasoline and Oil right now..so in the mean time, as we technologically advance towards a new kind of fuel..we still live on good old Black Gold..Texas-T and must produce as much of it as we can, while we wait for the alternatives..so the costs to all who drive can be afforded to keep gas in their cars in order to get to their jobs and back and function in daily life..
