SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Crude futures inched lower Wednesday morning after closing out the previous session near a five-month low as traders awaited weekly data on U.S. supplies of petroleum products, expected to show a decline in crude inventories in the latest week.
'In addition to the storm-induced selling of the past few days, we think commodity markets in general are showing increasing concern about a leveling off in U.S. economic growth rates.'

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The recent drop in prices at the pump could pick up steam, driving gasoline sharply lower in coming months.
"I'd say $2 to $2.50," said Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service. "Once you get past Sept. 15, it's really a downhill game."

LONDON (Reuters) -- Oil prices edged higher Thursday as Iran looked set to defy the United Nations' deadline for halting nuclear enrichment, raising the risk of sanctions against the world's fourth-biggest crude exporter.
U.S. oil for October delivery climbed 57 cents to $70.60 a barrel in electronic trading after bouncing from a 10-week low $68.65 a barrel on Wednesday, shaking off an unexpected rise in gasoline and crude stocks.

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil futures edged lower Thursday morning, headed for a loss of more than 7% for the month after a weekly report showed ample U.S. petroleum supplies, but prices remained close to $70 as Iran remained defiant in the face of a United Nations deadline demanding that it stop enriching uranium for its nuclear program.

Experts: Big Drop in Gas Prices Unlikely

By Brad Foss, AP Business Writer

Analysts Say Chances of Major Drop in Gasoline Prices Happening Anytime Soon Is Unlikely
As gasoline climbed past $3 a gallon this summer, Juan Martinez of Takoma Park, Md., topped off his tank $10 or $15 at a time to prevent his wallet from hitting empty. Now that pump prices are falling, the strategy is really paying off.
Each trip to the gas station in recent weeks has been more of a bargain than the last, though "bargain" is not a word the 22-year-old government employee and part-time student would use to describe $2.74 a gallon.
"It's basically the same as $3," he said. "If it was lowered to $2, that would be a lot better for me."

Oil: Price falls to below US$68 as tension over Iran ebbs
NZ Herald By Barbara Lewis

LONDON - Oil fell more than a dollar to less than US$68 a barrel on Monday, pulled lower by expectations that any sanctions against oil producer Iran were some way off and would not necessarily disrupt export flows. Its session low was US$67.59, the lowest level since June 21. Trading volumes were light as the New York Mercantile Exchange pit...
