SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Treasury prices were set Friday for another week of gains, with 10-year note yields extending their losing streak to a ninth-straight session, as traders turned cautious ahead of the weekend’s Group of Eight meeting.
Yields on the 10-year notes 10_YEAR -0.18% , which move inversely to prices, rose 1 basis point to 1.712%. A basis point is one one-hundredth of a percentage point.
Ten-year bond yields closed Thursday at their lowest level on record, though, intraday, yields fell to 1.672% eight months ago, according to Dow Jones Newswires.

I'm glad you brought this up because it's something that's been on my mind, but I haven't found much discussion on the issue.

I don't feel like I have a handle on the risk/reward balance with the F fund. With interest rates so low, is there a limit to where the fund can go?

Also, with the seemingly worldwide struggle with mounting debt, is there a potential downside to the F fund that many (raising my hand) don't appreciate?

The "F" can be really squirrelly at times and sometimes there is no logical reason for a LOSS. squirrel.gif
When the TNX and TYX drop down that means the "F" should go up, when the AGG goes up the "F" should follow, this doesn't happen all of the time but most of the time. I like it when the market is crashing, sideways to up it's the "G" for me!

I've been bulking up my cash position and if I don't have to use it I'm a buyer of all stinky things next week. But I'll just have to wait for now.
