Frankly I haven't heard ANY of the candidates state a position on energy or the environment during their campaigns so far. That won't happen until the conventions. All we know right now is that McCain will be more of the same. We know how Hillary thinks from 8 years of Bill. Obama ????
Declaring war on other countries will also call for sacrifice. And even if we win the battle, that won't automatically give us control over the oil supplies, unless we are talking about starting our own Colonial Empire in the Middle East. We will have to do the production ourselves, as the ones in charge. Meanwhile, if we don't watch our own market, we will continue to get counterfeits from China, and meat recalls. We will continue to be in debt, and hope that the Japanese, Chinese, and Middle East dollar holders will continue to buy our dollar denominated junk bonds. Don't increase taxes, don't let the tax breaks go away, don't pay off the principal, just borrow and spend and be a New Century Elephant.

FYI I voted for BUSH - TWICE. I thought Al was a lot scarier, and Kerry even worse. I won't make the same mistake again....I won't give my vote to any of them. I vote POLICIES, not PARTY, not PEOPLE. There is NO SUCH THING AS A REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE in Congress. They spend more than anyone...the more ya got, the more ya spend...especially if it's someone else's money. Now I'm going back to the bar car and relax. Join me Buster...but only if we talk music, cars and pets. Hey, we as Americans can sacrifice. Let's send the best of our youth to fight our war. Hell, I'll buy a bumper sticker and put it on that Hummer I bought in part because of tax breaks. That's the support most Americans can get behind. And while we're at it, why should big oil sacrifice? Haven't they suffered enough? Tax breaks for them as well. And as for the ultimate sacrifice and show of solidarity, our great president has given up golf.

In the long run, what will be will be...I've learned to just accept it and move on, no reason to carry stress about something beyond my control..
