NiteFlyer's Account Talk

From today's opening bell... it looks like moving out may have been a good choice but, I moved a day early and missed a .69% gain. I hope I can jump back in at a good moment. Any thoughts? Today? Tomorrow? October?

What would SWAVET do?

Congrats to SWAVET, he climbed from the deep 400's in the Auto Tracker to the top 10. SWAVET ust know "a thing or to about a thing or to".

I would really like to move to the I Fund and will probably do that later in the month but, I think the S Fund has more potential at this point. Lots of European data is coming out today but the US data won't start until later and through tomorrow.

Well, that moved worked well for me. A day later on the out and I would be up .79% more but, at least I sat still on the charts and was left in 6th for the year. I went back to 100% S and so far it looks like a good move too. I plan to stay in all month or move to the I-fund with my last IFT. I would hate to sit in the G or F for most of the month. I fear missing an upswing more (not too much more) than being in on a large downswing. Come on snake-eyes!

I would think the market is not acting in a fashion that suggests anything devastating to the down side is upon us anytime soon. Let our friend amoeba anticipate a crash down.

Congrats, You've been killing it this year!

It has been a long time since I last posted. I have been checking the site often though. I made it up to $600K and was holding near there. I took out a $20K loan for some dental work for my wife and then the market took a little more recently so, I am down to about $533K. However, I decided to try my hand again at day trading starting 15 days ago. I had $8K sitting in an online account and after four trades have increased it to $10,900 (about 30.25% in 15 days). My trades brought in 14%, 1.2%, 12%, and 1.7% (compounding got me to the 30.25% increase). If I had waited an hour or less, the 1.2% would have been 10% and if I had sold a day sooner, the 1.7% would have been 20% <sigh>. My money wasn't available yesterday but, a stock I would have bought then went up 53% right after open today. I know this can't possibly be a sustainable rate but, theoretically, the potential growth for a year is astounding!

So, a VERY long time since my last post. I've read messages off and on but haven't posted. Just noticed I need to update my e-mail address because my domain changed on me. I jumped out of the C-Fund last week around 3800 even and I'm thinking it will drop to at least 3600. I had exited in late December of 2019 and avoided the large drop but waited a bit long to get back in. I missed about 10% of the upswing a year ago but have been riding it since. I could retire now and probably make more in gains and pension than my salary is. I could have taken a buyout last year but am holding out until I think I can easily make more in gains and ride out bad years. Also, my normal retirement date is still over 2 years away. Worst case, I can always cut spending in retirement. My current plan is for extensive world and US travel after retirement so, lean years would just mean staying home more.
