Hello and Welcome to the MB FireGal ! I think you will find that you made a good decision to join tsptalk.com This site is all about trying to maximize your dollars for when you eventually retire.

The Best thing you could do is take your time and read, read, read. Just think for every 1 extra percent you get on your hard earned "invested money" can mean to have a better and more relaxed retirement whenever that shall be. Of course the earlier you start the better off you can potentially have it.

It is very nice to see how many people are taking charge of there money. When I joined this wonderful site almost 3 years ago there where only 160 people in the auto tracker. It is wonderful to see over 500 now.

Take care of your log in problems. It will be worth it. And ask away if you need help or have questions.

The log in thing is a bit tricky, but keep in mind you need 10+ posts to start posting on the AutoTracker. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward. Welcome!

No, no eagle eyes here. Just another FNG that happened to see that a couple weeks ago as I was getting started here. But I do do my own taxes!

Just out of curiosity, what is your goal? A reasonable goal would be "Actively manage TSP to avoid large drawdowns". A poor goal would be, "finish top XX in the tracker".

It's kind of like saying, "this New Year I'm going to start running."

Good point Bullitt, my goal is to actively manage to have a net gain on the year in tsp thanks to sentiment survey,

and have a net gain in outside accounts after taxes and commissions by spotting the cyclical trend reversal when it arrives, and buy some of my first 1x inverse ETFs in the roth and taxable accounts, soon after.

My gut saw that huge up-candle back in march 09 and reacted to it, but my fingers just wouldn't follow my gut-I was still too new at watching the tape and understanding sentiment back then. I'm a bit more seasoned now, mentally, hope I'm ready to become a better cyclical trader. we shall see. I missed the big 08-09 drawdown so I'm still doing pretty well overall as I learn, even if not a lot of gain since then.
