 I am new to the forum. I have been monitoring the discussions for about a month. I am invested 50/50 C&S, and have been for the 15 months or so I have been eligible to invest. The notion of "day trading" the TSP is new and interesting. I am retired AF; currently working for the VA. More appropriately... working for veterans.I have held 50/50 on the notion that long term the S&P will climb. It didn't occur to me until the recent changes in the TSP that there was an advantage to being actively involved. Curiously, my wife's investments through non federal 401K, are catching mine up despite contributing less! Time to get involved!

Welcome AF Vet. Glad you can join us.

An aggressive buy and hold strategy like the one you have is a great way to invest for the long term. But I find the short term approach is surprisingly less risky, but it can also be a lot more frustrating. If you have time and like a challenge and the ideaof trying to beat the returnsyou might get from a concentratedor diversified index buy and hold type of allocation, then you are in the right place.

Thanks again for joining us!

I'm about 90% in I-fund (I know - not good).
I need to gradually move funds from I to more stable G so I can withdraw some funds and have confidence of the value of the fund on the day of withdrawal processing.
Question: Since I is mostly Europe and Asia is there a website I could check each morning before the inter-fund transfer cut-off time that might give a clue on whether or not to transfer OUT of I that day?
Thanks.

This link probably won't help you decide on your IFT's but I check it every morning to see how Asia and Europe did over night.
