Welcome aboard, SCHOFIML. 3.76% was real good for 2011. That puts you in the top 25% of the 2011 AT tally. Half of us were negative for the year and over 2/3 were below the G Fund, so you did great. Keep up the good work and don't get greedy. Sounds like your risk aversion will help you there.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm a little overwhealmed figuring out how to get around at this site.-- so many links -- still working on (figure out) the "How to link your AutoTracker Account..." part, and how to send this "reply"- there's got to be a "send button" around here, somewhere. I think I finally found the "Submit Reply" button.

Congrats on a positive return this year.

Welcome to the board. Remember risk is defined as the chance of loss. By setting goals and reviewing advice on this site, I'm sure you can set a path that will mitigate the risk and make you more comfortable making smart money decisions.

Watch the blogs and watch the Autotracker. If it gets too much and you need help, the charge to be on a premium service has usually paid off in returns, so keep an eye on them.

Read, ask, and participate, and if you see something that others don't, we'll be looking for your opinion.

Happy New Year, Happy Investing!

Hello to the group. I have a real fear of risk, but I hope to manage it more this year. I haven't lost funds in TSP, but have only made of return of 3.76% (per TSP calculation) in 2011.
