New GI Bill for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans

Virginia's Sen. Jim Webb is sponsoring the subject bill. The bill's text can be found here:

I noticed that of 24 Senate sponsors only three are Republicans - Olympia Snowe (ME), Susan Collins (ME), and Chuck Hagel (NE). Why is that? Is increased support to veterans considered a liberal issue?

As a Vietnam era vet, I think veterans deserve more than our verbal "thanks". Comments?:cool:


Yes. Democrats support veterans services at higher levels than Republicans do. It's been that way for years.
