Today I went from 70% C 30% S, to 35% G 35% F 15% C 15% S.

If the new limits do go through, will that count as one of the two alotted moves per month?

Also, say you're 100% anything other than G at the start of a month. If you IFT to 100% G that shouldn't count as an IFT, right?

The way I read it, you can start the month 'in' the market, make a move to the G fund, then move back into the market, then back to the G fund and only have one IFT 'charged' against your two per month.

Clear as mud?

I think this is what makes me angriest. We now apparently have a new rule about "excessive trading" but it is defined no where. I think everyone should formulate a genuine question about moves such as weatherweenie has posted here and send it certified mail to the TSP Board chairman who is Saul I think (and better yet, also to each of the ETAC members.)

Weather,

The way I read it:
If you make a move to the G-Fund and you have not made any moves that month, it would count as one of your allotted two moves. The first two moves do not take into account where you are. If after your two moves you have shares left in F, C, S, and/or I you can move them to G without being penalize. But only to the G-Fund.

So,
Yes, to the first question
Wrong, to the second question. You have two moves.

Q2. What are the new restrictions on interfund transfers? The Thrift Savings Plan will implement restrictions on the number of interfund transfers a participant can make per month in order to curb frequent trading and its associated costs to TSP participants. However, the TSP does want to provide the opportunity for participants to rebalance their accounts and to permit unrestricted access to the Government Securities Investment (G) Fund. Accordingly, the restrictions would be as follows:
Participants can make two (2) interfund transfers per calendar month. After that, they may only move money from the Fixed Income Index Investment (F) Fund, the Common Stock Index Investment (C) Fund, the Small Capitalization Stock Index Investment (S) Fund, the International Stock Index Investment (I) Fund, and the L Funds to the G Fund.
We will count the interfund transfer based on its process date, not the date the interfund transfer was requested.
If your first or second interfund transfer in a month moves money only to the G Fund, it still counts toward your two (2) interfund transfers per month limit.

Theres an idea!
I'm not one to say, "If only everyone would". It just doesen't happen.
BUT
I'm all in favor of an organized mail campaign to harass those who are harassing us!
JEEEEzzzzz, I wonder if there set up enought to handle 3000 addition pieces of mail!
They want mail,, "Lets give it to them!!!!" (I wonder what that would cost!?)
