Need some assistance regarding Interfund transfer

Here are my opinions:

In answer to your first question: "The question is will I lose money transferring from those funds to the G fund", the answer is no. You don't "lose money" making a transfer, but you may lose the opportunity to make money if the markets go up when the debt crisis is resolved, and you're sitting in the G Fund earning next to nothing.

In answer to your next question: "I just need to know will my account balance change if I make the interfund transfer." Yes, your account balance will change each and every day depending on how the markets performed, and what percentage you have in each fund. Just because you make an interfund transfer does not change that fact. If the stock market go up today, and tomorrow you make an interfund transfer, instead of having, as an example, $232K going into the G Fund, you may have $234K going into the G Fund.

I hope this helps, and I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for the response and you answered my question /concerns. I just couldn't make a smooth thought process of out something simple. Once again thank you for your understanding and patience.

I was recently in a car accident and as a result the wires are somewhat crossed upstairs..it's getting better but takes time. I'm considering making interfund transfer. Currently I have: G - $125k F - $10k C- $45K S - $51K. TOTAL $232K. I want to transfer all $ from the F,S,and S fund to G Fundmy (The pending Debt limit crisis and affect on the markets are my reasoning).

The question is will I lose money transferring from those funds to the G fund. In otherwords, the existing balance remains the same but I understand it changes depending how the G fund performs.

I hope the question is clear and not confusing. I'm not seeking advice as to whether I should or not...I just need to know will my account balance change if I make the interfund transfer.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Sorry about your current situation. But you will lose money staying in the F fund and make no money staying in the G fund. It's time to diversify those monies into the I fund. The bull market will help you in the long run but you need deeper penetration with risk - I know it's difficult to reason but going forward there is opportunity for gains.
