strange selection, the cure. i saw a guy try to commit suicide at a cure concert at the forum in los angeles late '80's.
on the floor before the concert started he pulled out this big knife and tossed it around in the air and would catch it and then stab himself in the gut, several times. i've never seen a crowd of humans make a big wide circle so fast but stay close enough to get some on them. once he went to catch it and it went right through his hand blade down. i thought 'that's not how you hold a knife'. then the security cops tackled him and drug him out. that was strange too, a cop on the ankles and one on the shoulders, they took him up the stairs backwards feet first with his head down. strange. then a few minutes later the lights went down and the show started. strange thing for a young man from southern utah to see.
we drove down there to la in a two door rusty red mercury capri, sort of like a mustang but cheaper. later looking back on it that seemed fitting. we were high all the way.
