the moon is relative to where you are at. everybody sees it different.

for example: i am sitting on the edge of a butte on the north plains grasslands facing south in the middle of nowhere. i can see the lights of 3 farmsteads maybe 4 miles southeast. i can see the lights of part of town 6 miles southwest. other than us there is not another soul around for maybe 3 miles radius.

the wind is blowing so no fire to dance this big moon tonight. i will dance it cold instead. in the west the sky is clear. in the east the clouds are dark and lightning flashes from time to time and i can hear the thunder. i wonder when this moon will come out. i know nobody else in the world is seeing this moon like me tonight. i am not naked. yet.

it is just a fuzzy disk right now, there is no way to take a picture of it because the sky is so big and there is nothing to lend scale or perspective. soon it will clear the clouds. trust me, this is a big one.

Well, the moon rise was spectacular. I could not believe the size of the moon when it came over Mauna Kea, it was massive...like it was a galactic star planet you'd see in a Star Wars film ! No kidding....all I could think was "oh my, it's so big"! The pictures didn't turn out well.

I did capture a shot of a lonely bullfrog starring up towards the moon....soaking in the moon mojo before the chorus of horny toads start serenading their mates. They are loud. And, NO!
