Remember Tech a single politician cannot accomplish anything by themself. They need others and even if they did get together could they get enough accomplished to really make a difference before they are voted out.. You make sense and everybody knows it. But just because it makes sense doesn't make it reality. I'm just being the Devils advocate hear. From experience it doesn't matter what discion you make half the people will agree and the other half will call you a stupid idiot. It can be a really thankless job and if your honest there is no real money in it.

Those are some of the many reasons that limits and control systems are needed......maybe after we have an economic crash someone will get the wild idea that tax base and govt spending output is a system.....and needs controls, better controls than someone going to vote on something that they themselves may not know what they will cause to come down in the future....;)

Someday, someway, somehow......gees will I ever see it...!!:?

My lifes earnings are wasting away in front of me......how about yours?????

Great point Cowboy, I couldn't agree more. My wife actually made a statement to the news paper that basically said. I am going to do what I think is right and if I don't get re-elected then that's OK. She is really doing it from the heart which is the way it should be but by the time you hit the federal level they are really trying keep the position. Something else I should mention the cryers that you talked about are the ones that vote. When you have a 13% turnout for a primary then those people that are crying get who they want in and Wala look at the result!!
One thing about the 13% that do the crying is their stuck in a rut as most of them do not really want to get anywhere individually or they have and want to force their ideas onto someone. Also if you look at our federal political elected a lot have failed in private business or used the media to market themselves as someone they are not, so the gene pool isn't the best either. This is a very reason why I strive for financial independence. I have met a lot of people that complain about taxes but when you see their 1040 no taxes were paid at all but most of it spent to buy something else. This catches up tothem, as sooner or laterthey have to sell toturn the dollar and good old Uncle Sam is waiting for you.

Part of the reason the gene pool is so bad is simply economics and self preservation.. Many of my wifes friend are professionals like herself and laugh at her and call her a masochist. Of course the only reason she can afford to run for office is because of me. You are right though about being rich and owning nothing. I have a father-in-law who was an immigrant, 3rd grade education that now owns about 500K in land, a home that he built etc. and owes nothing to anybody. He actually owns it. On the other hand my father traveled the world, drove big cars, had a big home and was a social somebody. He died heavily in debt putting the burden on his wife, he owed almost twice what he had in assets. It was all about the image. I'm with you, financial independence is my goal and that only comes from smart spending or rich parents!!
