Market Trading - Education

Help from anyone---

Altria (MO) plans to spin off it's 89% stake in Kraft (KFT). This is suppose to take effect 30 Mar 07. Altria shareholders will get 0.7 shares of KFT for every 1 share of MO. Does anyone have any examples of other simular spin offs that have happened. I would like to compare charts to see if either stock might be under valued after the spinoff.

TIA

Back in 2000, 3COM (coms) spun off Palm Pilot (palm). That was a biggie at the time.

I usually make interfund transfers two or three times a month and mostly based on input from an advisory service. Sometimes I make the transfers based on members discussions in these forums. Question, since an IFT has to be in by 12:00 noon EST, the change won't become effective until the next day's trading. How/what does one determine what the market will most likely do the following day? This is the worst part of TSP trading for me...

Determining day to day is a bit rough! IMHO-I look for trends! Based on fundamentals and technical analysis. However, on this web site you have the benifit of a lot of savy friends and some real good advisory services, not to mention daily commentaries. It's all about managing your own accounts - with a little confidence.
