General Commentary:

Dismal. Last week we had more wild sessions at Bearsville. S&P socks were still in a bottom trading range of about 1020 resistance, and 840 support.

A look at the chart(s)
The S&P500 [$SPX] Daily
Large Caps

The 50d E-moving average remains bearish, well below averages.

Bollinger Bands still record high volatility.

The P-SAR went bullish for some unknown reason??.

The S-STO was at oversold levels.

The MACD was still going sideways.

Wild, wild. wild.

Well, that's it for the weekend!

Be careful out there!

More of the same:

Another 3% down today; another last hour sell-off. 700's or 900's next (in the S&P)?

I was sucked in today. I had a transfer left for October so I did a one day move into the C fund for Monday. The last few Mondays had been big. Looked good by mid-day - paid the price by the close. Rats! Back to the sidelines.

It's like a nightmare that never ends.

U 2 huh ? :o

However, I'm In it 2 Win it.... I hope.

The market has some major weakness.
One day a indecision, another day a sell. No reason just emotion. No value of being oversold or overbought, just more selling. Instead of calming down, more volatility is added.

Oh! did you hear yeaterday where the financial institutions are setting aside large amounts of money (billions) to pay bonuses for this year!......:notrust:

Yeah I can't decide whether to allow myself to get sucked in 50% C Fund for COB noon todya, hoping on the Feds coming thru tomorrow, but then it could already be discounted in for today.

CB

Maybe I don't understand?

Let's see. We pay taxes and live with inflation. The government takes our tax dollars and prints more to bail out institutions, so the institutions can give big bonuses to the the folks that run the institutions and got us in this pickel in the first place.

Am I missing something here......

Average bonuses I heard were well in the $100K range. Did I miss something else when the government agencies gave out Christmas bonuses??

Ask Paulson, I don't understand it either, and neither did a lot of members of the House and Senate, except when they decided NOT to pass it at first the market had a major meltdown. Er actually ask that DAS working on the project, he's a lot more articulate, Paulson is just good at waving his hands and panicing the Markets when it comes to speaking in public.

It's a very serious move for me - I like it when the whole portfolio floats. I need to find out if we had another 9 to 1 upday to confirm the greatest bullish significance. I would not be at all surprised that we may have the beginning of a new leg of the bull market.
