General Commentary:
Last Friday left us with a spooked market. The rise in unemployment gave a rise to worries about housing woes, credit woes, and talk about a recession.
Last week the S&P lost near 2.5% and small caps lost about 3.2%. This seemed like a overreaction. Pricing is now near the lower Bollinger band. The moving averages are bearish and below the 13dma. However, the selloff was so large that it pushed the market into oversold conditions. The Stochastics oscillator for [$SPX] is now below the critical lever of 20.
Economics / Fundamentals:
Economic indicators are running about 4 (Ok) - 3 (not Ok) (See CNNMoney link). Crude was up $1.91 last week, closing at $97.91. Crude oil rose about 60% in 2007.
