Market closed today for...?

Strange, no mention of the stock market being closed today either here, at TSP.GOV or anywhere in the news unless you dig for it. I forgot myself.

Shouldn’t it be widely publicized that the US stock market is closed for a Christian religious holiday?

Does this belong in the politics forum?

I had a similar thought ... but I rationalized that no one complains about a day off - no matter the reason. I am also a little surprised there has been no issue in the current climate. I agree this thread maybe should be moved to politics, if there is to be a discussion regarding the basis of the market holiday.

If I did not work an AWS I too would be working today.

Thanks userque. I knew about today but kinda forgot. I know of the rest but can’t help wonder about poor old Columbus. I will never try to take charge of Destiny again after the attempt when I met her in that club on route 9 near Boston. (not trying to compete with ya burro)

All Fridays are good Friday’s and so are Thursdays if you work 4 10s.

I just thought it strange that when I logged on to TSP.GOV there was no mention of the market being closed and when inter fund transfers submitted by 1200 EDT today would actually happen. Usually there is an announcement.

All right, so just an extra day for Easter since Sunday is always a day off anyway. I get it. Since I've been a student or teacher for most of my life, I'm used to typically having Easter match up with spring break, while the rest of the world toils in misery. The synapses just didn't connect in this case. My bad.
