Maabee6 Account Talk

Dude...you're asking the wrong person. I just read as much as I can.

I watch the videos that Poolman posts. JTH is the chart guy here. Uptrend is the technical analysis guy. Coolhand posts links to news every morning so thats where the fundamentals come in. He also has the Seven Sentinels blog for TSP so be sure to check that out. TSPTalk (Tom) posts daily market comments here. Theres lots of info there both technical and fundamental so be sure to read that every morning. He also posts a weekly wrap up here so be sure to read it too.

Sorry to not be more specific. I'm still learning too and just trying to pass it forward. :o

Maabee6,

I see you are online. And, I see that you are basically 100% in the G Fund - with some discussion last year on allocations.

I think you have been overthinking the market. Think long think wrong:p.

Perhaps you might want to set an allocation for this market - a reletively normal one. That will buy you time to learn some of the technical trading skills that you seem interested in. Right now you seem to be following the market - bailing when prices are low and buying when prices are high.

I have been looking to get started in ETF's & have researched the various online brokers. Some offer comission-free ETF trades, but w/restrictions. Looking for recommendations! When I get started, I would like the opportunity to short also.

Thanks

I have not invested yet other than TSP. However, I ran across the below site when I was doing my research. Take a look and see if it's of any use to you. Bounce your findings with other members of this board.

Circus side-show!

I've found it rather entertaining the past two days reading all the bantering going on. It is interesting, because from everything that I have read or heard as traders we are best to leave human emotion out of our investment decisions. Especially when utilizing technical analysis or timing systems. Let the charts tell us what to do, right! Leave the emotion to the dumb money traders.

Great points, :) the separation of emotions from money is a difficult thing to do...

Amen to that, it is hard watching investments take a dive. We can only trust that the moves we have followed will turn and move positive, thus changing our (emotions) again.

TSP change proposals

I_T posted this on his thread and I intend to make my union president aware of this and try to get our union active in getting some potential TSP changes.

https://www.tsp.gov/planparticipation/about/purposeAndHistory.shtml#whoAdministers
"The FRTIB also consults with the Employee Thrift Advisory Council (ETAC), a statutorily created Advisory Committee comprising representatives of employee organizations, unions, and the uniformed services. The Council provides advice to the Board and the Executive Director on matters relating to the investment policies and administration of the TSP."
If you click on the link for the ETAC at the above link, it gives a list of different ETAC members and organizations.

I encourage everyone to do what they can also to see if we can make a difference for our futures.

Please post what your thoughts for change should be. I will also post some of my comments as well.
