Im trying to find a really great FREE online retirement calculator. I have seen a couple different ones but none seem to take into account all the variables i am looking at.

age today
age of retirement
current salary
expected salary increases per year
amount in savings
expected rate of return
ssi
401k or other savings
expected rate of return
pension
Expected rate of inflation
Other monthly benefits
length of expected retirement
expected healthcare costs

so on and so forth.

all factors should be able to be adjusted up or down.

i have tried sites at SS, bankrate and vanguard. And a few others i looked at but all are missing things.

Before saying, "write your own in Excel!" Do you use Quicken or the likes?

Try wells fargo retirement calculator, it doesn't have expenses, but it allows for at least 5 sources of income with varying start and end date...almost everything on your list.

https://www.wellsfargo.com/investing/retirement/tools/my-retirement-plan

use the public version of My Retirement Plan. With the public version, you can’t save your plan online, but you can access the tool’s other features.
you can choose not to sign on...

RK,

Just a thought...you MIGHT ask your HR people that question ! I know, that sounds totally wrong, and my memory is sketchy, BUT I once worked for an Agency that paid the annual subscription for employee access to a commercial retirement calculator !

Wouldn't hurt to at least ask !

Back in the day, there were also some useful calculators that were "unofficial", but posted by the US Geological Survey...you had to dig for them a little (pun intended ! :D ), but they were easy to use. I just now "googled" them, and was surprised to find a pretty comprehensive list of calculators here :

USGS Benefits Calculators

May not be the comprehensive stuff you're looking for, but MAY be helpful !

BAH HUMBUG ! Like I said...back in the day, they had a retirement calc program that was obviously developed by employees with too much time on their hands...probably some Excel whizzes !!! It never got "official" recognition by USGS, but was available, nonetheless. Now, I click on the site links, and get carried away to all the "official" FERS/OPM/SS web sites...so much for the "little Guy"...:(

USGS had a fantastic tsp calculator back in the day. I had it bookmarked and played with it, it was way better than the one my agency has, even tho the agency version is pretty good these days. I was pretty unhappy when the USGS one disappeared, never knew it was unofficial. :(

Thanks for the responses. I think the state farm one was quite nice.
You'll like wells fargo better
