Looking at plans to reduce the deficit - Details here!

They appear well thought out and I very much appreciate making a genuine effort to reduce the Deficit.

In our experience over the past 30 to 40 years it is rarely the lack by which a plan has ligitimate details -- that keeps the American People from finally gaining the hope towards a more promising future....

...it is the absolute refusual of one party to allow the other to take credit for doing something WONDERFUL -- for the American People.

...If we take the 'middle plan' -- and weigh it in with the reality of how our Political System operates -- The Republicians will make sure it does not get passed (because something that good for the People at Large would make them look bad) - simply because it would make the Democrats look good. Please know I'm not saying this to Bash the Reps -- because if the situation was reversed -- the Dems would do the same thing.

At least making the details 'public' gives the population a chance to call their representatives and make sure they know to 'pass it'.

Garsh, never thought I'd support anything Domenici sponsored. the world changes. I like the Domenici committee proposals (details) more than the Galston committee proposals for the most part. couple things I like better in the Galston proposals. Interesting the article doesn't compare the deficit reductions relative to the net deficit. I'm sure each proposal has different implications for net deficit-due to interest accumulation on the gross and net deficits in the timeframes discussed (2011-2020 vs. 2012-2020). :suspicious:
