Looking at retiring in March 2011; how do I know that I have the latest
edition of the retirement package paperwork? How often does the edition change of tsp retirement forms? In other words, should I wait until the last minute. I would hate to do the paperwork only to find that the date
has been superceded by a newer date. Can you help?

welcome Casswillexx!
There will be some one, or two, or several along shortly to help you out!!
Enjoy the place! We only bite after we get to know you (your vulnerable spots!) :)

Be sure to check the different forums on down the home page for all variety of subjects not specific to which fund we are `doing' now !

Thank you so much Grandma, I forgot to introduce myself, so I did go back to the introduction board and introduced myself. I forget that
this site is a family and a community. So I'll slow down and take a deep
breath. Cassandra

Depending on who you work for, when I began to prepare for retirement our Human Resources Group furnished us with a package and all the forms, instructions etc, but I worked for DOD USAF. Don't try to use the ones on line call them first!

I am retiring this Dec and I have already applied for retirement. We no longer have a real HR person to go and sit down with (I work for NASA), all is now done online and then I get to chat with some NSSC person over in Ms. It makes me feel insecure, but others have successfully gone through the process. I had to fill out a ton of paperwork, then fax it to Ms and after they reviewed it, I then had to mail the originals to them. I do occassionally get a email from NSSC........but then again I still have 8 months to go, so they are not interested in my case, which is understandable.

I plan posting my retirement experience

Best of luck Zebra, lots of paperwork and I know they have 90% of the info they ask YOU for!!

I retired while doing everything by USPS mail, email, pdf, fax, etc. I got everything done in about 5 months. But I was working for a Dept. of Interior agency rather than NASA.

Good luck and I hope things go as smoothly as possible for you!
