Kudos to the Congressman

It was a good thing to do. But that was no act of heroism.

Big difference. Roe was never in danger.
I don't know about that. The story doesn't say whether the Congressman used a protective barrier when giving rescue breaths, so he potentially could have been exposed to any number of deadly diseases. You'd probably think he was a hero if it was your life he saved.

Sgt. Meyer is a superhero, no doubt about it. If he stays in the Marine Corps, he'll likely be Comandant at some point.

Hero: somebody who commits an act of remarkable bravery or who has shown an admirable quality such as great courage or strength of character.

Heroes are those who seize a dire moment and act when action is required. Belittling this act as not heroic with your statement is petty.
