Just joined, interested in hearing more about seasonal investing

Hello everyone. Glad to be a member. Hoping to learn more about TSP in general and specifically seasonal investing. Is anyone using this strategy and what are your experiences; good or bad.

Thank you all in advance, looking forward to learning from folks a lot smarter than I.

Have a great day.

LLStahli,

Welcome aboard. This is a great place to learn. There will be a few folks that will talk about seasonal changes but typically there really isn't any specific seasonal investing. Good luck and again welcome aboard.

for what it's worth, TSP funds are not set up for seasonal trading.

The most general seasonal rule of all is "sell in May and go away". That would take maybe 2 IFT's a year which makes it more than ideal.

No seasonal strategy should rely on intra-day quotes or more than a few trades a year. Making a trade could just mean overweighting stocks some months by a few more percentage points than other months.

Welcome! The paid services and discussions here are focused on market timing so not much seasonal investing information.
