I wasn't going to let my daughter attend a UC school anyway, even if I would be getting in-state tuition.

I do need to decide on a school or university system that is worthy of her attendence and my money and move there to get in-state, though.

Sounds like that would be a good move especially if you move to a low tax state for advantages after retirement.

I wasn't going to let my daughter attend a UC school anyway, even if I would be getting in-state tuition.

I do need to decide on a school or university system that is worthy of her attendence and my money and move there to get in-state, though.

Texas! Good economy. No State tax. University of Texas in Austin ( lots of rivers and lakes), Texas State University 30 mins south of Austin , Texas A & M, about 1.5 hrs NE of Austin. Low crime rate. Lots of guns to keep the bad guys in line!

I went to A&M. If she wants to go there I'm all for it. As you said, many other excellent schools throughout the state
