I saw a post on here talking about IFT's. Does everyone have the same IFT rules the 2 or 3 per month? Someone said it might be only the "Abusers" who did moves each day. Is it for everyone? Thanks!

Plus it was the rules "unlimited IFT's", until the socialists decided to unilaterally change it, before it was even approved.

And then punish the infidels who opposed the terrany they imposed on us
mortals. Bass-turds !

The IFT rules are here and here to stay. It's been months and the unlimited IFT's were only used by me since April '07. I'm not sure when they started unlimited IFT's but I'm sure my TSP would be double what it is now! That's the way it is, The Wild Wild Wst is gone and it ain't coming back. I might suggest that some in-depth analysis of IRA's, etc.

Dannymcm, if I haven't said this already, welcome to this glorious website.

As far as the rest of your statement, I have little time to respond, other
then to say; I don't share your view on the subject and wish you luck in
your IRA. :suspicious:

Are there any strategies regarding time-of-the-month for enacting an IFT?

Are there any special events that happen at the end of a month that affect the funds?

Event wise, look up window dressing at invetopedia.

Any end of month strategies went out with the reduction to two IFT's.

Are there any strategies regarding time-of-the-month for enacting an IFT? You'll find many scheduled and unscheduled
events that will effect the Market, and in turn your TSP Account.

Economic Reports http://www.briefing.com/Investor/Public/Calendars/EconomicCalendar.htm , Earnings Reports http://www.briefing.com/GeneralContent/Investor/Active/ArticlePopup/PagePopup.aspx?PageId=3273 and alike.

The market is focused on the G20 over the weekend and will play a
role in what the market does come Monday too. So to answer your
question (in general); the variables are emmence and all but
impossible to base a IFT on just those. But even Bad News can be
better then expected and move the Market up. Tom posts a
Seasonality Chart which gives you a historic look at individual
months http://www.tsptalk.com/comments.html, but they haven't
been much help based on the unique times we're living in. (IMHO) It
is all but impossible to do a IFT simply based on the time of month in
which you do one. The solution is HOMEWORK.

Are there any special events that happen at the end of a month that affect the funds? *Please see the Above

I truly hope this helps ! ;)
