Sorry if this has been asked. However, I have heard that after one's 2 IFT for the month one can only move into the G-Fund but I understand one can also move 1% to any fund. My question is first can one move 1% to multiple funds? Say on Monday I want to move from 100% in the G-fund to 97% in G and 1% in EACH I-Fund, S-Fund and C-fund?

My next question, can one move 1% each trading day? For example, I move 1% each day to the C-Fund for 5 days, the result 5% in the C-Fund?

DrScooter,

Welcome aboard. Below is the link to the <1% option account. You will want to go to the first page. The <1% option is explained within the first two pages.
After you have used your 2 IFT's for the month your options are transfer shares to the G fund or use the <1% option. In order to use the <1% option you have to have shares in that account. In other words if you have zero shares in the F fund you can not move any shares into the F fund. So you have to plan ahead if the <1% option is something you will use. Also in order to use the option your fund percentage has to be between .01% and .99% Therefore if your S fund percentage is at 5.23% you can round up to 6%. Also when you make the <1% move you have to adjust all funds that have shares in them.
I hope I answered your questions. The account link below goes into more depth. Keep asking questions and good luck.

Thanks NASA I think I get the drift. While this time I was at least on the correct side of timing I did move "all" into the G-Fund. However, I always have my payroll "buy in" to TSP go to something other than the G-Fund, it varies but presently includes I-S-C and F-Funds, I no longer have 100% in just the G-Fund. So should I choose come monday I could adjust to 96% G with 1% in each of the other 4 funds I now have a stake in? Technically, I could readjust each of these funds to an even perecentage daily by up to 0.99%

yes, up to .99%, but only every 2nd day. First day (Monday), you round up all your funds to whole percentages before noon. Next day (Tuesday) all your funds are at whole percentages, so you have to wait till wednesday to round up again.

Spreading your contributions across all the funds especially if they were 0% is an interesting technique that gives you the opportunity to nibble back in vs. being completely shut out, especially if you used the L funds, could allow almost 4% increase into equities every other day. Its fun to play with, but it may not really be that practical. Instead of putting everything in G on my second monthly IFT, I'll leave 1% in each fund and L fund, and/or spread my 2 week contribution likewise.
