I don't know. If I'm losing I usually just join the opposition and argue on their side for awhile. This really confuses them and they generally move away from their hardcore position and more towards my original position because they start thinking if he's for it we have to be against it. Works great for lawyers! Not so much for spouses. They're way too smart!
