Greetings!

I agree, feel like I just fell off a passing space craft. I just tried it again and now it does seem to work as indicated. Can't imagine what was happening before and am somewhat angered that TSP would tell me it was normal when apparently it is not. I will go back to sleep now. Thanks

Were you trying to reallocate the amounts in equities? i.e., add a little into S/C/I? while moving some to G? Besides the moves to G after 2 IFT's, you can do a >1% IFT to rebalance. I met my goal of 50 IFT's for the year, doing both moves to G and less than 1% IFT's.

Farm Boy,

I have used my two and I still have 20% in play. I am going to IFT as we speak, stand by.

[h=3]Interfund Transfer Limits[/h]
You can make an IFT at any time, but there are some important limitations:
  • The first two IFTs of any calendar month may redistribute money in your account among any or all of the TSP funds, including moving your entire balance into the Government Securities Investment (G) Fund.
  • Subsequent IFTs in the same calendar month can only move money into the Government Securities Investment (G) Fund.
If you have both a civilian and a uniformed services account, these rules apply to each account separately.
Your IFT counts in the calendar month we process it, not in the month you submit it.

I hear what you are saying, but I have been unable to do this with my account. If I have two IFT's and then decide to move some into the G and leave the rest in any other equities account my TSP will not accept that move. My third move must be 100% G. I have tried this twice and both time it was rejected by TSP. I have called TSP twice and received the same message, on your third move it must be 100% to the G fund. ????? I am begining to believe this is not true with everyone?

Farmboy,

You got to read the posts closer. You can move every day of the month out of a equity fund into the G fund. Example On Dec. 1st I was 100% C fund and I can move 2% into the G fund every business day TSP is open. That is where folks are getting more than two moves. You are correct we only get two move in equities.

This may work with Tracker, but it won't work with TSP. But, I understand there are some people claiming they can get more than two moves out of TSP. I have called TSP twice and received the same message; on your third move it must be 100% to the G fund. If you are able to get two moves and then get several more moves to the G fund as you slowly adjust your account you are somehow getting around the system. If this is true, be assured this is not enjoyed by the whole world.

Lol. Intrepid, since your sales pitch almost has me convinced I just have one more query; are any of your subscribers in the top 25 of the auto tracker returns competition?

Now you're getting personal.........;) This time I'll just say yes and more than one............:)

Quick question folks, do most of the premium members on here use Intrepid_Timer?

Welcome to the board Luke. All I will say is that my premium account talk thread has over 119,000 views and almost 5000 replies since it was started on Jan 21st of this year. Of course, this could just be two people viewing it A LOT of times during the day and my mother and I carrying on a running conversation...........;)

Welcome Luke!

Good luck and congrats on getting started as early as you have... The earlier the better, as time is one thing you cannot get back.

Welcome aboard Luke .... this is an excellent site to learn about your TSP & gain from members with a lot of experience
