German pundits continuing to poke Greece in the eye does show the basic fallacy of the Euro, ECB and EU ever being a full rival of the USA. They can't overcome centuries of war and antagonism.

No one in the US would ever tell California what to do in order to not have to come to other states for aid, things like scale back civil servant union pension promises, worry less about bugs and bunnies (and sea creatures), change higher education from a right to a privilege, forget about demanding fair share payments from the USG, etc. No, not ever. :blink:
