Well!. It went down to 1272 (=-0.17 FV). Now we are back to 1281 (=0.00 FV) and expecting the rebound to continue to hit 1291 for (=+0.15 FV).

That's all folks!

Note: A little bit of wishful thinking>

Just too kind of throw this out there. Let’s say the ECB raises rates, dollar runs up, I fund goes down. With a little imagination, let’s say the trend follows for a period of time (longer than a trading day :)). Since in the past the TSP has enacted restrictions on our accounts (ie, IFT limits and fractional G fund payout) anytime there was a positive benefit to it's investors (contributors?), how long does anyone suppose that they would continue to support I fund investors with positive value FV's in the unlikely event the Euro starts to fall and the dollar sees consistent gains (talking huge gaps here)? It looks like the system has day to day or week to week fluctuations built into it, but let’s just say over a longer term, the financial crisis here (US in the trenches) spills over into the EU with similar results (which I highly doubt, but the low dollar is no doubt hurting).

I'm pretty ignorant about the I fund with respect to currency exchange differential liabilities, and how it would work out being paid interest for funds that were gained through a valuation differential instead of earnings.

That's probably not worded right????

There is one more condition I guess that could be included, but the Bush administration has already put a certain country on alert if the Euro was to be allowed to be mix traded with the dollar for oil. I don't want to think about that situation however :worried:

Under normal circumstances the +FV today would have been +0.64. But I am not sure how it would work with TSP closed today. For I-Fund holders it doesn't make a difference because it would have been given today and then taken out tomorrow.

For someone who would have got out today, the difference would have been huge. (+0.64)

Re: Just for Argument Sake!

I thought that since TSP is closed, you can only either get out on Friday close, or tomorrow close?
