No $ for habitat, but if you can design an experimental generator that transforms their poop into green energy then there's tons of grants and low interest loans available for that.

Now if it was racoons on the other hand, there's already a market for those.

 
You said "down $4,500 from the pay for those two weeks missed ". Wow. Was that net or gross? 4500x26 pay periods=$117k. I sure hope the poor person managed to put away a few pennies just in case.

No, that's a DC guy's gross. And that's a low salary for most of the DC guys. That's maybe missing a rent payment. You can't afford to buy a house in DC on just a $117K salary. That only gets you rent money for an apartment that is pretty far out in the sticks. $117K gross salary in DC, for a family, where houses cost $500,00 or $600,000, is pretty tough.
