One can only wonder why? Union costs, bad business evironment or taxes, combo of the three or bad, evil management just thinking of their shareholders? Whatever the reson, I think we'll be seeing more of this. GM has already moved more of it's manufacturing to China.

We need to change this pattern and make it more attractive to keep these high paying jobs in this country. But I believe that Congress and Union leadership, has become nothing, but a dysfunctional, borderline criminal organizations and are filled with self-dealing, verbally flatulent nimrods, that only care about their own well being and not the people they are suppose to represent.

A pox on both parties and groups. :mad:

Yeah it's too bad that the chance of having a legit 3rd party candidate with a realistic chance of winning is slim, unless both parties screw things up so bad that the American people just get fed up. Maybe we're heading that way now, who knows, Nov 2010 may give us a hint of the direction.

Romania GDP per capita: $12,885 per year.
Average monthly wage: $512 month.
Minimum wage: $200 month.

Dang, where's that rhetorical question icon when ya need it. ;) and more of this will be happening, when the effort should be made to keep jobs here.

Of course that's the reason why. :laugh: It sounds like Romania is another socialist workers paradise loved by obamanistas. (See Venezula and Cuba, our new big buds now) With the government footing most of the bill (the direction we're heading) and the excessive tax burden our children will face ( a given common sense fact ), we'll be there sooner than we think. We can't print money 24/7 and not expect to have to pay the piper, or some of us are just fooling themselves.

But at least Uncle Sugar will be there to wipe our noses. Yeah, it's not from snopes nor wiki, but just old fashion common sense from one of those angry RWE's the MSM keeps fear mongering about. :D

If this is what it takes to keep the jobs, then let'em go, they sure ain't worth keeping if it means the Gov't has to control everything and that's what they want, just check the pedigree of most of his Czars. I gave ya three of them, which you conveniently ignored, to ask if I went to the Union picnic. Someone doesn't get it. :blink: But maybe you approve of them, who knows. "shrug".

Er...Romania? Are they nuts? There is a reason why they have such a low labor rate. It's not exactly the steller New Eastern European example, for that try the Czech Republic, or even Poland has a better reputation.

BTW, a lot of manufacturing for Western Europe is done in old Eastern Europe. Most likely the vans made in Romania aren't coming here, it is not worth the shipping cost. And even if they were cheaper, I wouldn't want one that was made in Romania, sorry. I predict Ford is going to get what it paid for (of course this is all my opinion, so maybe I'm wrong but it smells like Big Mistake to me).

GM production in China, the Chinese like big gas guzzlers, it's primarily for their market. And Chinese manufacturing hasn't been so stellar for Toyota and Honda recently (I posted this elsewhere but here goes again)

Customer Demand Drives Up Ford's European Sales Share In May For Fifth Successive Month


COLOGNE, June 15, 2009 – Driven by enthusiastic customer demand for its strongest-ever range of vehicles, Ford saw its sales market share increase for the fifth successive month in May across its main 19 markets.

Continued economic uncertainty and lower overall volume, combined with political and industry upheaval in some of the company's major markets has not deterred car buyers from choosing Ford's newest models, the Fiesta and Ka, thereby helping to increase the company's market share to 8.9 per cent in May, up 0.2 percentage points.

Ford's year-to-date share was 9.2 per cent, up from 8.7 per cent in the same period in 2008.

The company increased its share in 11 out of its 19 main markets in May, and in 18 out of its 19 main markets year-to-date. Total in May were 118,300, 10.6 per cent below May 2008, but a significantly lesser decline than that expected to have been experienced by the overall new vehicle market in Europe.

"Despite the rapidly evolving industry, economic and political environment, we are very pleased to be Europe's No.2 best-selling vehicle brand for both May and the year so far," said Ingvar Sviggum, vice-president marketing, sales and service, Ford of Europe.

"We have our strongest-ever vehicle range, and we thank our customers for continuing to show such great confidence in the Ford brand."
