Had to leave the lake to come home and attend to business. Hmmmm. Well, my new trophy wife broke her boom racing last Friday but thanks to a friend who's a welder, we had her back on the lake in 24 hours...Love that sail racing...

I decided to nibble my way back in..I'm thinking "I" isn't a bad bet...following Ebb, and S still looks doable ....following 12%....thought about "F" but looks like there's een money being made there and I hate the "F" fund...

And as Dylan says....it's all blowin the wind..

Good luck all...missed talking to WS, CC, 12%, Griffin, Show-Me, Spaf, Nnuts, etc....

Did fine yesterday...today looks like a bust so I'm changing things up a little. Next week is historically slow so I'm 60 G, 20 C, 20 F. That way I can get some of what Ebb and 12% see as good investments if Monday goes on a tear. Have a great weekend all and good investing.

I hope WindHunter is enjoying the summer breezes as much as I am. Sailed the regatta this weekend in my new boat. Still working on improving her pointing ability but came in mid-way with 20 boats participating. Fun fun fun!!! CC...hope all is well with you..

Hey FS, Sounds like you had a good time. That's my problem racing also. My boat speed is good but, I always seem to get out pointed. Think I need a jib traveler. Just cant seem to get her pulled in enough.

Anyway, yes have been enjoying the nice weather on the boat. Heading to Table Rock next week but leaving the big boat in her slip and taking the Hobie Cat. She's much easier to travel with. Good Luck investing.

Hope you guys have a good week next week...I'm thinking I should have stayed on the sidelines...I jumped in and things go crash..BUMMER..So far, I'm about 3.1% percent for the year...Yucccchhhhh. All the time I'm putting in and I'm barely beating the G fund..

I'm actually reconsidering my investment strategy. I'm thinking of dumping half my funds in 2010 and the other half in 2020 and letting the market do it's thing while I go do my thing. It's that or G until I can see a paatern beginning to form. And if it's a downward pattern, DOUBLE YUCCHHHHHHH....:nuts:

Well, Monday will be here before we know it...so I'm holding until then.. I'll make my change depending on what happens..

WS, I'm looking into having a special jib made up to help me point better. I just hate the cost of all these little "improvement" projects...Oh well, it's just money...and I sort of want to place up in the top 4 one day...

I know how you feel FS! I've been thinking for a long time to go what I like to call semi/semi long, to play the short term trend but not as short as I have been playing it. Like a three week trend, not a 3 day trend. Or a one month trend, don't play bounces and dips, but have an exit strategy if I see a big fall coming, or Russia nukes India or something? This short term is WHIPSAWING me to death!

Oh well!!! A 2% loss on 20% of my money is better than a 2% loss on the whole enchilada...

I've been thinking for a long time to play the short term trend but not as short as I have been playing it. Play a three to four week trend, not a 3 to 4 day trend. In other words, try not to play bounces and dips, but have an exit strategy. Like Nnuts recently told me "This short term is WHIPSAWING me to death!"

So, my new experiment starts today:

G 50%, C 22%, S 11%, I 11%, F 6%

No changes until August 25 to give me time to offset profit taking actions by the big boys...We'll see if this works better. I've put a lot of work into this without much pay-off this year...

Just posted a shortnote to you at WS' place. Good to hear from you. Glad to hear you're kickin butt on the circuit. $300.00 sounds great..And winning is always the best.

I'm still playing with my new TROPHY WIFE. I can't seem to leave her yet...The weather has been so good, I just want to saty on the boat all the time..It' sort of changed my focus on the TSP forum this past month...and well, I'm thinking it will change it thru about 9/15..heh heh..In truth, I am spending about 4 days a week playing right now..how tough is that!!!

Oh well, I'm glad I'm having too much fun...It's good for the soul..

Plus Tom made some interestng (speclative) comments about how the recent markets have tumbled in the afternoon's after TSPr's have had to make their interfund changes...somewhere between 200-400M a day as a very rough estimate. Not that TSPr's have an impact on the market in a major way, but if it's coincidence...

Anyways, I'm sitting tight for a while...I just hope I don't lose out on some big gains but I'm not Birchtree. I'm retired and capital preservation is just as important to me as making more money..so I tend to be a bit more risk averse..

Good Luck Buddy... Maybe you should name your car "Grocery Store"...Tell her you're going to the Grocery Store and you'll be right back...
