Thought I would get the old thread out and dust it off.

I see there were some quick S > I moves. Seeing the weakness of the I last Friday that might be a very good move. That is if we get the Monday bounce action. I may buy a little more if we do.

Hard to say, Japan's devastation could swallow a large chuck out of the I-Fund, especially if folks flee to the USD

Thats like 25% of the I fund, right?\
Glad Im just owning a tiny % of it right now.

If that's the case, I wonder if it might be a good idea to pick up more of the I fund today?? I have a feeling they are over reacting here and we will a bounce back of the Nikkei later in the week. Thoughts???

Hmmm - judging by some IFTs of late last week they were expecting a bounce today. Yeah its going to go up but which day to pick (in advance) to make the gains in your TSP.

I have around 3% in I, but now I wish it was 0%.

I'm not betting that this is the bottom for the Nikkei yet. There are questions about three nuclear power plants, and sad to say, the final death toll is going to be a lot higher than where it is now. There are going to be long-term consequences to this. The only silver lining is it wasn't centered in central Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto) - the northern province is much more sparsely populated - and the Japanese building codes are very strict since they have earthquakes all the time (of course - not like this one).

If anybody was wondering about my Avatar I snagged that gif off a ebay MB at least a decade ago.

It was one seller's idea of what ebay founder Pierre Omygosh (whatever) must have looked like as he raised the listing and final value fees...which were dirt cheap compared to today, believe me.

So I adopted Pierre to adorn every post I post here, he lives again!

I do my best to ban ebay for raising their fees without just cause. I was once a seller, cranking out over 1K a month in profits, they rewarded me with yet another price hike. I hope they die a horrible death...

He's just envious, thats all - and I had him stumped and falling all over his hoofs at the politics board, trying to figure out who I was b/c I used a different User ID. He was ate up trying to figure it out.
