Extra ballots printed for Dane County polls; turnout forecast to hit 80% of registered

In Madison, voters in an historic election were showing up in unprecedented numbers, so much so that by mid-afternoon new supplies of ballots were being printed for the city and a stash of extra ballots had been established for county municipalities.

At 5 p.m., election turnout predictions continued to top 80 percent of registered voters in Dane County, and equally high numbers throughout the state.

In some Madison wards, the difference between " registered" voters and "eligible" voters created the anomaly of triple digit turnouts.

"We're swamped," was the comment from the City Clerk's office, where extra ballots were ordered printed at mid-afternoon.

Huge turnout today- larger than a Presidential election.

Looks like a repudiation of the unions in Wisconsin. 7 point win is pretty resounding.
