ETF for dummies

Expect the unexpected. Gold was supposed to soar if Trump won the election, and it did... for about an hour.

Yeah...Gold has been behaving uniquely lately.

Thanks for the tip, should have been patient and watched from the sidelines..
I got a littke antsy yesterday because I missed the action Monday at $55, so bought at high $52 yesterday. Now, i am really in the action...:banghead::dunno::Flush:

$54+. Well played. :) Time for NUGT?

Dang! Did you see after hours? Dust as of 1408 is up $61.00
always missing the action

Yeah...I'm watching.

Your trade was profitable...you'll never go broke if you keep taking profits...even if you don't get 'all' the money on the table. :)

I meant 0208, not 1408 in my previous statement.
Pre-market is.now $65+ for Dust...no chance for me to join the action. Too high.

Ok. I meant I was following the GOLD Futures (not the DUST aftermarket) when I responded earlier. :)

Yeah...getting in DUST now seems risky.

For a flat fee of $10 a month, I subscribed to Robinhood Gold which gives me added extra buying power of $2000 and extended trading hours from 0900-1800 everyday. Trades are still free.
However, I see some traders (stocktwits) able to do their trade even before 0900. How do they do it?

Is the thought that you should trade to a gold ETF to get the gains there, when the market starts going bear on is all? And do it fast ?

This explains it better than I can:

Is there a direct/inverse correlation between volume and the share price?

Some (Many?) don't use volume in their algo analysis, especially for ETF's. I don't use volume in my algo for a few reasons. But this article seems to be on-point to your query:

Why Volume Is A Spurious Indicator For ETFs
Forbes Welcome

"...The Silence of Volume

While made traders may consider volume as a confirming indicator to their analysis of price movements, they should take caution when applying the same analysis towards ETFs. While most ETFs will track the price movements of their underlying indices closely, the volume of the index and the ETF (and thus the indicator demand-driven market momentum) can diverge. Just as trading the underlying stocks does not create volume in the ETF, trading the ETF does not necessarily create volume in the underlying components. Investors evaluating ETF volume as an indicator in their decision-making be warned: this is a case of garbage in, garbage out. ..."

Thanks USERQUE for the info. It is very educational for newbies like me.

"By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return."

Not sure if I am interpreting the bible verse above correctly...I made BIG $$$$ with DUST, and losing big time, too, with DUST... I guess, "..full circle.." is more apt...

Time to try my luck again with DUST..not sure what price is good enty point...
