As I write this, the Dow is about 15 points away from hitting 10,000... again!

Let's see if CNBC has another commemorative party for a level has been crossed more than 50 times since 1999.

I am actually in stocks right now so I don't mind the rally at all, but if I hear them celebrate 10,000 on TV as something special yet again, I think am going to puke.

BOOO.
Market just dropped 50 points:D
It sure does not seem to take much for this thing to make huge swings.
You think they saw Tom's post?

Tom, haven't you put on the parental lock on your TV to lock out CNBC? I have managed to not tune into to CNBC for several months in the house. Although, I have placed them right in between the comedy channels on XMSirius presets in the car. I like Bloomberg though... a lot less financial editorials.

LOL - I am a market junkie and am still hooked on CNBC. I have it on in the background most of the day if I'm home, mostly to hear commentary from folks like Art Cashin and Rick Santelli.

Often times I have the sound down and listen to the radio while on the PC, glancing up occasionally to see what the market is doing and who is talking.

I sleep with Bloomberg on, as I wake up thoughout the night (sleep apnea) I check the futures then drift back to sleep.

If the markets are up I sleep better... :D

Is Art Cashin still throwing out full-moons, ramadahn and other hocus pocus stuff? He used to be a sound trader, one that I used to tune into on my drive into work regularly to hear his take pre-open... then he seemed to fall off the deep-end about a year ago (about when they started publically talking about the overseas UBS swiss tax shelters). And Santelli is the glass-is-half-empty kinda guy. Gartman was the only one I found enlightening. I'd trade 'em all for a double interview with Becky Quick and Rebecca Jarvis.

You need to increase your CPAP pressure 2 more cm.

Yea why don't I just stuff two air chucks up my nose and call it a day. I do need to go back for a titration though, I think I'm at 16/14 right now.

Cashin was talking a little bearish this morning, based more on perceived economic skepticism from the Fed yesterday, not so much full moons. :)

I like Gartman also, as well as Doug Kass. I miss Jeff Macky on Fast Money. I don't watch that as much without him. What happened to him?

I do switch to Fox Business and Bloomberg (particularly for evening futures at JTH said) now and then, but for some reason I keep finding myself back on CNBC in the mornings.

The 100 points we gave up yesterday was probably computer driven programs and just think they may take it all back today before we close. Taking the SPX to 1070.

I've been CNBC free since January 1, 2008 and apparently I'm not alone.
Nielsen reported a 50% plunge in CNBC vierwership in October year over year. Specially, CNBC has experienced a massive 52% decline in overall viewers during business day hours (5 am - 7 pm), and a not much better 49% drop in its demo (25-54) in the month of October as compared to last year.

Interesting that it's down over the business day even though we have the most people laid off and spending the day on their couch in over a decade.

The Dow is at 10,000? Isn't that some index that's being manipulated by robot trading and quants?

I turn it on every now and then, but not for their financial yadda-yaddas...I just like to check out "Maria"! :D

News Flash! The Dow is back under 10,000. Plans for the next Dow 10,000 CNBC show are in being made now.

Back to your regularly scheduled program.
