Donald Rumsfeld Makes $5 Million Killing on Bird Flu Drug

I don't see what the big deal is, he's been on the Board of Directors since 1988, and is reaping some rewards of a chance increase in price. I say good for him!!

He's not on the board anymore. I don't think a political person should be allowed to contract out to a company that he owns stock in period. Especially for a drug that is a bunch of BS at that!

THIS is just my opinion.............

M_M

60 different countries have bought what they feel is a required preventative medicine from apparently the only company that has it. I'm sure he's owned his stock since he was the chairman, several years before this epidemic broke out.

What is he supposed to do, tell Britain they can't buy the medicine because he owns stock in the company? Or not own any stocks period because he is now a politician?

Just seems like a lucky break to me.

I agree with you that the media hype surrounding this bird flu seems to be just that, but I think that the countries at this point are deciding the take the better to be safe than sorry approach just in case. If Rumsfeld had not been involved in that company for numerous years, it would look a little more suspicious, but to me it simply looks like a good break for the guy.

Yes, that video was hilarious!

Think about this: currently in this country there are 105,000 ventilators - if we have a pandemic the need increases to 745,000 ventilators. What concerns me who will control the ventilators - there are not that many Birchtree types around. Ventilators are my specialty.
